Para muchos, Vektor está llevando esencialmente la antorcha del Thrash Metal moderno. La primera impresión del álbum es el puro nivel de intensidad. Puede que no sea tan agresivo como los esfuerzos anteriores de Vektor, pero sin duda se siente más maduro y bien redondeado y no falla en términos de energía o pesadez. La combinación de la integración de influencias inusuales es lo que lo separa de la escena Thrash moderna restante. Y aunque algunos pueden pensar que esto no es una hazaña seria, imagínense si "Terminal Redux" fuese sido lanzado hace 25 años, ¿cómo habría sido recibido y medido contra los mejores álbumes del género? Volviendo al alto nivel de composición de canciones, basta con decir que simplemente no se siente como un LP de 73 minutos, Vektor logra mantener al oyente comprometido a través de una variedad de riffs bien elaborados, temas significativos y un montón de momentos inesperados. Por ejemplo, desde el principio, uno está gratamente sorprendido por las melódicas voces de apoyo hacia el final de “Charging the Void”. Hay ocasiones en las que la música se siente como un caos perfectamente organizado con una guitarra que tiene su raíz en el Black Metal, voces que recuerdan a "The Sound of Perseverance" de Chuck Schuldiner, momentos de serenidad y pasajes emocionales como en “Cygnus Terminal". Es esta combinación que crea un producto altamente adictivo y atractivo. Desde el punto de vista técnico, "Terminal Redux" es sólido. En el espacio, nadie puede oírte gritar... A menos que seas David DiSanto, él suelta sus pulmones en una magnitud de caídas de mandíbula. Las cualidades líricas y vocales que hicieron que los últimos álbumes de Vektor tuvieran éxito no pierden nada de su potencia aquí. Los raspadores de marca están presentes en todas las canciones y sus chillidos alienantes, lanzan las canciones en mayor intensidad.
En lugar de simplemente mostrar un tecnicismo sin sentido, "Terminal Redux" es un álbum conceptual. A lo largo del álbum, sentimientos como la ira, la desesperación, la malicia, la melancolía y el aislamiento entre otros, se comunican a través de la instrumentación controlada con el uso de la tecnología, pero al mismo tiempo critica la dependencia excesiva de la gente moderna en sus computadoras y pantallas de teléfonos. Todo lo anterior, combinado con la naturaleza de la ciencia ficción, construye una aventura musical equivalente a “Blade Runner” de Ridley Scott. Los escándalos, como la inclusión de un grupo de cantantes soul, o una balada con voces limpias, también ayudan a mantener el enfoque sin sentir cansancio. Indudablemente, el punto culminante del álbum viene después de "Collapse" y es donde parece que todo viene junto. "Recharging the Void" es dinámico, melódico, pegadizo a pesar de su duración, e incluso incluye una parte de "Charging the Void", que da la sensación de que la historia ha llegado a un círculo completo. En este punto, se debe hacer un aviso especial con respecto a la producción ya que todo suena limpio pero no clínico, manteniendo el sonido crujiente de las guitarras y manteniendo el bajo en un punto donde es audible. Vapnartak 2016
Last Sunday was the annual Vapnartak show, put on by the York Wargames Society, I went along with Dean and Ninjasaurus Rex to see what this year had to offer and below are a few pictures of the games that were on display. This wasnt everything there, but just a selection.

A large desert scenario set in what looked like the Russian Civil War dominated one end of the main hall. There was loads of details and this looked pretty interesting!
Speaking of detail, this magnificent board was crammed with details alongside a 17th century battle:
Close by the Alamo was under attack from the Mexican army:
I am not sure what this was, but it seemed to be set in Africa in the 19th century (edit: it was actually the 8th cape war of 1851-53). I liked the look of the grass.
This was one of several Dragon/Lion Rampant games going on, this was a large siege with a very impressive castle.
Star Wars Armada. The collection of ships in this game must have cost a few bob!
Another Lion/Dragon Rampant game, this time a desert fort under attack by marauding Muslim warriors.
A small demo game of Daisho, with a small but perfectly formed board.
A Cold War Force on Force game fought out on a large model of a ship. This was a really innovative way of gaming.
Next door was another Dragon Rampant game (I think!), revolving around a large wickerman on the centre of the board.
And finally, my favourite game was this one hosted by the RAF Gamers being the reconstruction of the filming of an episode of Sharpe.
TV cameras and helicopters were in attendance, although I did think there were too many extras to make it an accurate representation of an episode of Sharpe...
So that was it for another year, and it was definitely worth the journey up to York to attend. I came away with a small amount of stash, some Baccus figures and buildings along with some more dice and dice holders. Ill post pictures of these as I paint them over the next few weeks.

Sesuai namanya, sobat pasti mengerti bahwa game Point Blank yang sobat mainkan dengan “uang/cash” kini bisa dimainkan secara offline tanpa koneksi internet bahkan full inventory senjata, karakter, dan lain sebagainya. Keren bukan?
Jika ada yang bertanya-tanya apakah Point Blank Offline 2016 disini merupakan hasil modifikasi Counter Strike 1.6 ? BUKAN. Game yang akan kami posting kali ini memang benar-benar point blank offline yang bisa kamu mainkan dirumah. Point Blank Offline 2016 ini merupakan salah satu karya teman-teman dari PBDeveloper yang sangat terkenal. Untung saja, kami diberi izin untuk membagikannya ke teman-teman secara gratis. Cara Install :
- Download terlebih dahulu file bahan yang dibutuhkan. Semua wajib didownload tanpa kecuali dan pastikan kamu sudah memilih tipe bahan yang benar untuk 32/64 bit sesuai infrastruktur PC kamu.
- Jika sudah, silahkan extract file-file tersebut dengan menggunakan Winrar dan pastikan sudah berada dalam sebuah folder agar terlihat rapi dan mudah menginstallnya.
- Langkah pertama, pastikan PC kamu sudah terinstall .NetFramework 4.0. Jika belum, silahkan install dengan menjalankan dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe seperti biasa.
- Langkah kedua kita akan melakukan instalasi Java. Jalankan jdk-7u11-windows.exe untuk memulai proses instalasi. Install saja seperti biasa dan pada saat proses pemilihan folder/direktori, pastikan kamu sudah merename foldernya menjadi “jre7”. Jangan sampai salah! Jika sudah, silahkan buka direktori instalasi Java kamu (C:Program FilesJavajre7).
- Masuk ke folder jre/bin lalu copy semua isinya ke folder bin yang ada di folder jre7. Intinya seperti ini : Copy semua isi folder C:Program FilesJavajre7jre in lalu paste ke folder C:Program FilesJavajre7 in.
- Masuk ke folder jre/lib lalu copy semua isinya ke folder lib yang ada di folder jre7. Intinya seperti ini : Copy semua isi folder C:Program FilesJavajre7jrelib lalu paste ke folder C:Program FilesJavajre7lib. Kalau tidak mengerti, silahkan nonton videonya ya.
- Jika sudah, lanjut ke Langkah Ketiga, yakni instalasi mysql server. Jalankan mysql-5.5.22-winx.msi untuk memulai instalasi. Pilih Typical Instalation lalu klik tombol Install. Tunggu sesaat hingga proses selesai. Diakhir proses instalasi, pastikan “Launch the MYSQL bla bla bla” sudah tercentang lalu klik Finish.
- Maka akan muncul dialog baru. Klik Next -> Detailed Configuration -> Next -> Server Machine ->Next -> Multifunctional Database -> Next -> Next -> Next -> Next hingga kamu menemui kotak isian root password. Isikan kedua kotak tersebut dengan password “123456”. WAJIB. Jangan diganti passwordnya. Next kemudian selesai.
- Langkah Keempat, instalasi SQLYog. Jalankan sqlyog_setup.exe dan lakukan instalasi hingga selesai. Jika sudah, silahkan buka SQLYognya lalu register dengan serial yang sudah diberikan. Pilih New lalu isikan password “123456” kemudian save dan connect.
- Jika semuanya sudah dilakukan, saatnya kita menginstall PB Offlinenya. Jalankan PointBlank_PTS.exe lalu install seperti biasa. Sambil menunggu proses instalasi PB Offline, klik kanan pada My Computer lalu klik Properties. Buka Advanced System Setting -> Environment Variabels. Kemudian, cari “Path” lalu klik tombol edit. Scroll hingga akhir lalu berikan tanda titik koma (;) dan pastekan ini : C:Program FilesJavajre7 in Lalu Ok dan simpan.
- Jika sudah, tunggu hingga proses instalasi PB Offline selesai.
- Lalu, buka folder C:Program FilesPointblnakPTS SetupPBServer_Gaul Rev 8.3pb_database dan jalankan setup.bat tekan saja sembarang tombol saat dialog Command Prompt terbuka. Jika sudah, kembali ke SQLYog tadi dan klik kanan -> Refresh Object. Jika sudah terdapat tabel “pb” maka inject database sudah berhasil.
- Selanjutnya silahkan buka shortcut yang ada di desktop dengan perintah Run As Administrator dan browse folder PBServer_Gaul Rev 8.3. Klik save.
- Selesai dan selamat bermain :)
- Untuk cara bermainnya, silahkan pilih Public Server lalu pilih Spesial Match -> AI Mode.
- Beberapa senjata/equip kalau diuse akan keluar dan muncul bug trap. Itu karena agan memilih senjata event yang memang belum tersedia di PB Offline ini. Mudah-mudahan bisa cepat diupdate oleh tim PBDevelopernya ya.

Fiasco Leeds 2016
On Sunday, Ninjasaurus Rex and I took a drive out to Fiasco in Leeds, hosted by the Leeds Wargames Club. I have been aware of Fiasco for years, but have never been despite Leeds only being less than an hour away and at the Armouries which is easy to get to. With the death of Triples, we have been forced to seek a little further afield than usual to get our convention fixes (The Joy of Six being an exceptional exception). I was pleasantly surprised to see how well attended and busy Fiasco was, there was a mass of traders and plenty of games. A lot of the games seemed to be fantasy and science fiction orientated, but I was happy to see a lot of historical stuff being played as well. Below is a photo dump of some pictures I took, its not every game there, just the ones that took my interest.
And finally there was a massive game of Jutland, being played for the centenary. It certainly looked impressive!
We only spent an hour or so there, but it was worth the trip out. I didnt intend on buying much as my lead pile is pretty high at the moment, but I did walk away with some Early War Miniatures shell craters, something I have been meaning to buy for a while.
