Trailers que são melhores que os filmes
Para quem não sabe, com o passar dos anos as técnicas de trailers vão evoluindo, as vezes sofro por escrever sobre um filme antigo, pois na hora de colocar o trailer no fim da matéria a coisa é só a bagaceira e por mais sério que o filme seja, o narrador (muito presente em trailers antigos) costumava fazer parecer uma piada. Infelizmente o formato mais comum em trailers modernos é aquele em que mostram o filme INTEIRO.
Os caras não sabem ficar sem dar spoiler, eles pegam a obra grande e as transformam em mini filme, porém só com as melhores cenas. É por isso que hoje em dia se tornou tão comum dizer que o trailer é melhor que o filme, porque trailers mostram todos os melhores momentos e causa a falsa impressão de que o filme é todo assim só que com ainda mais coisas. Daí você vai ver esperando mais, porém não tem nem o prazer de ver o que já foi mostrado.
Tem alguns casos que me gera até uma certa revolta assim que termino de assistir o trailer, pois a sensação é meio que "Que??? Mostraram o filme inteiro?". Simplesmente alguns editores exageram completamente. Chega a passar aquela sensação de que o editor do trailer tem mais habilidade que o próprio diretor, mas a verdade é que ele é um baita de um incompetente.
Em alguns filmes tem uma beleza tão gigante na forma que a coisa é apresentada, tipo Rua Cloverfield, 10 que mostra a personagem olhando com cara de horror pra "coisa", mas não mostra o que é. O próprio marketing do horroroso Bruxa de Blair 2016, que inicialmente não falaram nem o nome verdadeiro do filme, não mostravam absolutamente nada, só diziam que era um filme em uma floresta e mesmo assim conseguiram enlouquecer o povo.
O problema só fica ainda pior com a falta de originalidade da maioria dos filmes, quero dizer, todo mundo sabe o que vai acontecer quando um grupo de jovens vai pra um lugar deserto e tem um monstro lá né? Ou quando tá tendo uma invasão alienígena e um personagem fodão tem sua namorada sequestrada. Você pega o trailer de um filme, soma com um daqueles esquemas de filmes prontos, e consegue prever praticamente qualquer filme.
Acho que isso vale especialmente para a legião de filmes de terror que vemos hoje em dia, é difícil achar uma obra realmente difícil de prever, tipo O Silêncio dos Inocentes. Mas como falei, não é apenas em terror, é possível notar esse problema nos trailers sendo detonados em tudo quanto é gênero. Quero dizer, é só ver um trailer de filme de super herói... Em geral mostra ele no começo se divertindo porque ganhou os poderes, mas de repente a música muda pra algo tenso e a cena mostra o vilão explodindo um prédio, daí vem a pancadaria toda. Nesses trailers no geral a única coisa que não mostra é como o vilão foi vencido.
Enfim, e vocês? Ficam incomodados em como o padrão moderno de trailer é apresentar um mini filme com as melhores cenas? Ou não se preocupam? Tem alguma indicação de filme que o trailer é espetacular e gera curiosidade sempre precisar mostrar todos os melhores momentos da coisa?

It will be interesting to see what comes of this. I have hopes. Being now an academic journal I hope they keep the same no advertising policy as before. As long as they can keep on a regular schedule I am sure that many folks will be happy. My fear is that the cost will be raised and more in line with other academic journals.
Another thought: Does anybody have an idea what will become of the back issues and will Gatehouse Press continue to sell the bound volumes? I guess I need to look into picking those up in the near future.
